Mons. Valentino Miserachs Grau, member of the Board of Directors and of the Artistic Committee of the Fondazione Pro Musica e Arte Sacra, leaves the post of Dean of the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music

The Catalan Maestro, Monsignor Valentino Miserachs Grau, 69 years, who is also director of the Liberian Chapel of the Papal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, after 17 years of service, came to the end of his mandate as Dean of the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music.

On June 8, 2012 the concert for his farewell took place, during which he personally conducted the performance of his Oratorio for solo, choir and orchestra entitled “Noces de Sang” (Nozze di Sangue), commemorating the millennial of the miracle Eucharist of Ivorra in the Diocese of Solsona in Spain (1010-2010). The concert closed the concert season of the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music and was sponsored by the Fondazione Pro Musica e Arte Sacra. Assisted H.E. the Bishop of Solsona, accompanied by a large group of pilgrims and high civil and ecclesiastical authorities. Four soloists and various choral groups from Catalonia joined the Polyphonic Choir of the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music and the Symphonic Orchestra of the Ludovicea Chapel. 

On 10 June 2012 the Fondazione Pro Musica e Arte Sacra offered a reception on the occasion of the dismissal from the post of Dean of the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music of the Most Rev. M ° Valentino Miserachs Grau, member of the Executive Council and of the Artistic Committee of the Fondazione  Pro Musica e Arte Sacra, in the Council Hall of Palazzo Cardinal Cesi, which was attended by authorities and enthusiasts and not by music and sacred art from Catalonia.
