Dear friends of sacred music,

due to the dramatic health emergency COVID-19, the Fondazione Pro Musica e Arte Sacra was unfortunately forced to cancel the 19^th International Festival of Sacred Music and Art in Barcelona, Rome and the Vatican with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra "in residence”.

In order to let friends of sacred music still enjoy the beauty of music, the Fondazione Pro Musica e Arte Sacra is pleased to announce the 1st digital edition of the International Festival of Sacred Music and Art from 16 to 19 November 2020. Four musical moments in Rome and the Vatican can be followed from home via streaming.

On the programme on 15 November 2020 at 8 p.m. is the Spiritual Elevation in the Basilica of St. Ignatius in Loyola in Campo Marzio with music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Edward Elgar and other great composers, sung by the "Knabenchor Hösel" from Germany under the musical direction of Toralf Hildebrandt. This spiritual elevation will be available online as the highlight of the festival on 19 November 2020. One day before, on 14 November 2020 at 5 pm, the Knabenchor Hösel will perform the Holy Mass in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome for our Roman audience. 

From 16 to 18 November 2020 you can experience selected musical moments from the past years: The Coronation Mass KV 317 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Symphony No. 9 by Ludwig van Beethoven performed by the Illuminart Philharmonic Orchestra and the Illuminart Chorus under the musical direction of Maestro Tomomi Nishimoto as well as sacred choral music from Russia, sung by the Festive male choir of the Moscow Danilov Monastery under the musical direction of Georgy Safonov.
